Our Christmas in Photos

Why yes, it's 8 days into 2013, and I'm just now getting around to posting about Christmas. It was a different Christmas for us, but it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The only thing missing was my sister and brother in law. It was the first Christmas ever that my sister and I haven't been together on Christmas Eve and/or Day, so it was pretty emotional for us. We missed them a lot, and we hope that we are all together next Christmas!

William eating his cookie that he decorated for Santa! Oops!
My mom and dad came down the Friday before Christmas, and my mom and I went down to St. Augustine with the boys so Santa (Grant and my dad) could build our play set in the backyard. It took a lot longer than they anticipated, but the boys both love it.

Weston hard at work decorating cookies! :)
Sunday before Christmas we came back from St. Augustine late in the evening, and we all headed to bed. On Christmas Eve, my mom and I took the kids grocery shopping, we made 'Cookies for Santa', and my mom and Weston went to see Monsters Inc. while the guys finished up the play set. Afterward, we had planned to go to the Christmas Eve service at church, but I messed up the times, and we showed up after it had started and the place was packed. There was no where to sit!! So, we came back home and ate Christmas Dinner together. The boys went to bed, Santa came, and we all went to bed.

Tuesday morning was something that I can't even explain in words...it was nothing short of amazing. To see the awe and joy on Weston's face was just awesome, and we loved every second of it. It was a perfect Christmas morning, and I'm SO grateful that my parents were able to come down and spend the holidays at our house.

Now, on to some more pictures...warning picture overload!!

Cannot get enough of this sweet face! :)

Santa Clause 2012

Weston absolutely loved Santa Clause this year, and he talked about him all the time! We had a great experience with him telling Santa that he wanted trucks for Christmas. It was wonderful, and I loved experiencing Christmas through his eyes this year.

William on the other hand didn't even like Mrs. Clause. He screamed and cried and screamed some more! Here are some photos from our visit.

William was very unhappy and couldn't wait to get down!! :)

Sweet boy!

Here, Weston is telling Santa, "I want trucks and Garbage trucks."

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year (Belated)

Happy New Year from the Harvey Family!

Sorry for the belated posting...I have lots of pictures and things to catch up on from the past few months; however, I've been locked out of my gmail account for the past month, because I got a new computer and had my username saved, well, I forgot my username. I finally figured it out, and I'm back for a great year!

William's 1st Birthday Party - Our Family of Four

Here are some remaining family shots from William's birthday party that I just wanted to share! It will be my LAST birthday post, and I cannot believe that it's the very last first birthday that I'll ever plan and prepare for!

Salmonella Poisoning is NO Fun for Toddlers

Disclaimer: Please don't read if you are squeamish or don't like to hear about bodily functions. It's not pretty.

Night #1 - Just the beginning...

Yes, that's right...toddlers. Weston woke up on Thursday morning, and he did not have a normal bowel movement, and he didn't make it to the potty. I was surprised, but I thought he was just too busy playing, and he didn't want to get up and go, so I didn't think much about it. He went on to daycare, and he made it to the potty, but it wasn't normal there either, so his teacher put a pull up on him to ensure that there wasn't a mess later. I picked him up, and we were headed to Athens. We started the drive, and we stopped for dinner, and he didn't want to eat anything. After dinner, he told me he wasn't feeling good, but we kept on driving, and he fell asleep.

The next day sitting on the couch

By the time we got to my parents house, he was running a fever of around 102, and he definitely wasn't feeling good. He continued to have "the runs" all throughout the night, and he was moaning and groaning and feeling terrible. He didn't want to get out of bed the following morning or play with all the toys. Long story short, this continued all day long. By that evening, he was dehydrated, and he was shaking and miserable. I made the decision to take him to the Pediatric Urgent Care at Eastside Medical Center. They gave him an IV and fluids, and they took bloodwork and a stool sample. The  bloodwork came back pretty normal, and we had to wait until Sunday for the stool sample results.

Right after arriving at the hospital on Friday night

After almost two bags of IV fluids, they allowed us to go home, and we had to go back the following day. He was no better the next day, so they gave him a prescription of Zofran, so he could get enough fluids down to stay hydrated. By Sunday, it was starting to get better, but he was still miserable and a far cry from normal. We got a call from Eastside on Sunday evening with the results that the stool sample was positive for Salmonella. What?! Where did he get that from?!

At the hospital right after they started fluids...trying to rest!

Saturday morning sleeping on the couch!

We have no idea how he got it, but no one else that we know of is sick or has been sick. We haven't eaten out at any restaurants, so it's just bizarre. I'm sure we'll never know how he got it... Today, he is starting to feel a little better and starting to play a little bit, but he's still feeling pretty badly. It's SO sad to see your little one sick, and I wish so badly that I could've taken it away from him. I'm praying for a quick recovery and regained strength for my big boy and that no one else in our family gets it.

Sunday afternoon, napping...

Happy 1st Anniversary Josh & Amanda!

The whole family...Grant & Weston, Dad, Josh, Amanda, Mom & Me w/ William :)

My sister doesn't blog, but I know she reads my blog, so this one is for her! During high school, Amanda and I really disliked one another. I remember one time in particular that I was so mad at her for something, and I was just crying in the living room to my parents about how I wanted her to just leave or I wanted to leave, I can't remember. We definitely had our moments and high school wasn't a time that I'm proud of...we did not have a strong relationship. I'm grateful that as time passed, and we both grew up and matured that we've grown close. Not only is she my sister, but she is now my best friend.

Beautiful couple...Amanda & Josh

Last year on April 30th, 2011, Amanda married Josh. Josh is a wonderful brother in law, and he is always fun to be around. I'm so happy for Amanda and Josh! They've found a best friend in one another and are a wonderful, loving couple.

Our family...Dad, Mom, Amanda, Me w/ Weston & William, Grant

Congratulations Amanda and Josh! We love you both so much, and we are so grateful that you are such a huge part of our lives and the lives of our boys. Amanda and Josh make a constant effort to visit us and see us and always are present for important events in our lives. No matter the distance, they make every effort to be there. We currently live about 3 hours apart, yet, Amanda and/or Josh have been at both Weston and William's births, both boys baptisms and both Weston's 1st and 2nd birthdays. I know that no matter where life takes them, they'll always be a huge part of our lives. Our boys LOVE "Aunt Anya" and "Uncle Gosh"!

The best "things" that ever happened to me...

These boys light up my life and make me smile when I'm having a bad day! I can't believe I'm a mommy of two sweet little boys. Though they both have their moments and challenge me daily, we have more good moments than bad, and I'm so grateful for the blessing of their little lives.

Psalm 127:3-5  Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
